Season One: First Light — The Weave Begins
Every world starts in darkness. First Light is the moment it wakes up.
Welcome to the first official creation season of Loreweave. If you are reading this, you are here at the beginning — before the canons are settled, before the histories are written, before the maps are drawn. You are standing at the edge of an empty page with the power to fill it.
That is what First Light is about.
What Is a Season?
Seasons are time-limited creative spotlights. They do not restrict what you can create — every genre is always open on Loreweave. Instead, a season shines a light on a family of genres, offers curated writing prompts, and rewards participants with exclusive profile collectibles that mark their contribution to that chapter of the Weave.
First Light runs from May 1 through June 30, 2026, and spotlights four genres built for origin stories and creation myths:
- Fantasy — Magic, kingdoms, ancient lore
- High Fantasy — Epic scope, world-shaping forces, mythic stakes
- Science Fiction — Technology, discovery, the frontier of the possible
- Space Opera — Galactic civilizations, vast conflicts, the scale of the cosmos
Origin Stories, Creation Myths, and First Chapters
The theme of First Light is beginnings. The prompts on the First Light season page are designed to help you answer the questions every new world faces:
- What existed before your world?
- What force or accident brought it into being?
- Who witnessed the first dawn?
- What was the first law, the first city, the first betrayal?
You do not have to follow a prompt. Blank pages are welcome. But if you want a starting point — a spark to catch — the prompts are there.
First Light Collectibles
Every creator who participates during the season window earns profile collectibles. These appear as permanent badges on your profile, visible to everyone who visits:

These are permanent. Once earned, they stay on your profile forever — a mark that you were part of the founding wave of the Weave.
What Comes After First Light?
Season Two begins July 1, 2026. The community will vote on the theme in the Loreweave Discord. The top three candidates are:
- The Long Dark — Horror, Cosmic Horror, Gothic Horror, Weird Fiction, Supernatural. What lurks when the light goes out?
- Shattered Realms — Post-Apocalyptic, Dystopian, Grimdark, Alternate History. What survives when everything falls apart?
- The Hidden Thread — Mystery, Noir, Thriller, Espionage, Paranormal. Secrets, deception, and the truths we bury.

A Note from the Curator
Loreweave exists because stories should not be solitary. The best worlds are the ones that grow beyond a single imagination — where one writer plants a kingdom and another plants a rebellion inside it, where a character created by a stranger walks through a city you built, where a timeline you sketched becomes the backbone of a saga you never planned.
First Light is an invitation. Not just to write, but to build something together. The Weave is new. The pages are empty. And the first words are yours.
