Project scale guide

Scale describes where a project sits in the world tree. Larger scales hold context; smaller scales hold focused places where stories and canon can become more specific.

WorldA single planet, realm, or self-contained setting. A World fits inside a Galaxy or Universe and contains Continents. This is the most common starting scale — perfect for fantasy settings, entire planets, or standalone story realms.

To move a smaller world under a larger one, use Nest a Project. Stories and wiki entries remain with their project, and parent pages include content from nested projects.

Eri

Summary

Eri is a scribe, but quickly becomes an accidental hero. Whoops.

Eri has dark, shaggy hair in need of a trim and starts out pale and scrawny, but this changes over time. He is in his early twenties and tries to remain clean shaven when possible. He has blue eyes and a nice smile. He has no swagger to his walk, but he steps like he knows where he's going. Mostly.

Role in World

Eri is a scribe, but quickly becomes an accidental hero. Whoops.

Psychology

  • Motivations: Eri is a total need. And he owns it. He works as a scribe in the beginning of the story, but quickly outgrows that role. He still loves books and research and would rather spend time in a library than a tavern or anywhere else really. He's the type of guy that can't turn a blind eye when someone needs help. And he genuinely cares for others even if they are strangers. These are the motivations behind why he decides to face the dangers ahead of him instead of going on the run.
  • Fears: More than anything, Eri fears that he won't be enough. That he won't be good or smart enough to do what needs done and that he will fail when others need him the most. Also, he friggin hates spiders. A lot.
  • Wounds: Eri is an orphan. He doesn't know his origins, but found a good home at the archives throughout his young life. When his life there has to end, he feels adrift and lost for the first time in a very long time.
  • Desires: Eri is driven largely by a sense of duty at first, but soon desires to seek an end to the Dark Lord's tyranny for personal reasons. Coming face to face with those suffering because of this changes things for Eri at a heart level.

Conflict

  • Internal: Eri wants to be helpful, but he sure doesn't want to be a hero. He doesn't seem himself as worthy or important enough for that. Nor does he think himself capable.
  • External: The Dark Lord's minions and monster try to thwart Eri and his friends at every turn.
