Getting Started in 10 Steps
From your first visit to managing a thriving universe, each step builds on the last. Jump in anywhere that fits your creative goals.
Get Your Identity
The moment you arrive, Loreweave generates a unique alias for you — like "CrimsonWeaver" or "TwilightBard." No sign-up required. You can optionally create a recovery code to reclaim your alias on another device, or register with email for a permanent account.
Pick or Create a Project
Browse existing story worlds or create your own. Choose from 45+ genres, set the scope using the universe hierarchy — from a single Location all the way up to an entire Universe — and describe your vision. Projects can nest inside each other to create vast, interconnected settings.
Contribute Stories
Write short fiction from flash pieces (250 words) to novellas (5,000 words). Use the Markdown editor with live preview to craft your narrative. Link related stories together as sequels, prequels, or companion tales to weave a connected saga.
Create Characters & Canon
Use the modular character builder for cast members with identity, Jungian archetypes, Tarot tension, psychology, relationships, and backstory. Use the canon wiki for locations, factions, items, events, and world rules so contributors stay consistent.
Explore Timelines
Projects have interactive timelines where creators can map out key events and eras. Link timeline entries to stories and wiki articles to give your world a sense of history and progression.
Lorekeeper Tools
When you create a world, you become its Lorekeeper. Review and approve submissions from other contributors, manage your canon, and use reference codes to cross-link content. Every project, story, and wiki entry gets a unique code for precise identification.
Earn & Grow
The Weave Economy rewards your creativity with Threads and Strands — soft currencies you earn by writing, worldbuilding, and collaborating. Rise through Guild Roles, track your Weave Level, and spend Threads in the Weave Shop on cosmetic and functional unlocks.
Explore the Weave Map
The Weave Map is a living visualization of all story worlds on Loreweave. Watch worlds pulse with activity, discover connections between settings, and find thriving communities to join. Worlds with high prestige earn a glowing aura.
Discuss & Collaborate
Upvote the best stories and wiki entries. Leave threaded comments to give feedback, ask questions, or brainstorm ideas. Visit the Community Forum for in-depth discussions that live beyond any single story or project. Follow projects and authors to get notified when new content appears.
Build Your Profile
Your profile tracks all your contributions, Weave Economy stats, and guild roles. Earn rank titles from Apprentice to Grand Lorekeeper, and unlock milestone badges as your body of work grows. Readers can follow your profile to stay updated.
