The Divine Registry, Canon Markers, and a Wave of New Features

The tapestry grows richer.

This update brings some of the most-requested features to Loreweave — tools that deepen how you build worlds, how you collaborate with other writers, and how Lorekeepers shape the canon of their universes.

Here is everything that is new.

The Divine Registry — Pantheon & Godbuilder

Every great world needs its gods. The Divine Registry is a new tab on every project page where Lorekeepers can forge pantheons — named divine orders complete with cosmologies, creation myths, and hierarchies of power.

Within each pantheon, you can inscribe individual deities with:

  • Divine rank — Supreme, Greater, Intermediate, Lesser, or Demigod
  • Domains — the spheres of influence each god commands
  • Symbolism, appearance, personality — the full character of a divine being
  • Sacred lore — myths and legends that give your deity depth
  • Relationship mapping — alliances, rivalries, and divine bonds between gods

Pantheons can be collaborative — open them up and other writers can inscribe deities into your celestial order. The Lorekeeper always retains control.

Canon / Retcon / Fantion Markers

Lorekeepers now have a powerful new tool: Canon Markers. On any story or wiki entry, the world creator can assign one of four canonical statuses:

  • Canon — Official and authoritative within this world
  • Retcon — Revised or superseded, no longer active canon
  • Fantion — Fan canon, beloved by the community but not official
  • Apocrypha — Disputed or legendary, truth unknown

These markers appear as colored badges on content, matching the existing wiki canon styling. Each marker includes optional metadata — who authorized it and any notes. Authors receive a notification when their work is marked.

Mentions with @Alias

You can now mention other writers in forum posts and replies using the @Alias syntax. When you mention someone, they receive a notification linking them to the conversation. This makes collaborative discussions more natural and connected.

Thread Subscriptions

The forum now supports thread subscriptions. When you create a thread or reply to one, you are automatically subscribed. You can also manually subscribe or unsubscribe using the new button below the thread title. Subscribers receive notifications when new replies are posted.

Enhanced Notifications

The notification system has been significantly expanded. You now receive notifications for:

  • Stars — when someone stars your story or lore entry
  • Comments — when someone comments on your content
  • Comment replies — when someone replies to your comment
  • Mentions — when someone @mentions you in the forum
  • Thread subscriptions — when new replies appear in subscribed threads
  • Canon markers — when a Lorekeeper marks your content
  • Pantheon contributions — when someone adds to your collaborative pantheon

Notifications now display type badges and can be filtered by category on the notifications page.

Forum Visual Refresh

Forum replies now render as distinct card-style panels instead of flat text runs. Each reply has its own bordered rectangle with subtle shadows, making threaded discussions much easier to follow — especially in longer conversations with nested replies.

Auto-Approve Contributions

Lorekeepers can now toggle Auto-Approve Contributions on any project. When enabled, stories and wiki entries from other writers are published immediately without requiring Lorekeeper review. This is ideal for open, collaborative worlds where creative freedom matters more than editorial control.

Tutorial-generated worlds (those created by the onboarding flow) auto-approve by default, so new users can start contributing right away.

These features were built to make Loreweave a richer, more connected platform for collaborative worldbuilding. As always, the worlds you build here are yours — we just keep weaving better tools for you to build them with.

Happy worldbuilding, The Loreweave Curator
